New Apple iPhone to be more affordable
New 3G capable iPhones are set to become more accessible and affordable to the masses. According to Steve Jobs of Apple, the iPhone which hit the market priced at $599 and now sells at $399 is poised to drop to a very competitively priced $199 for a 8GB version of the next gen of the phone. Alternately, there will be a 16GB version available for $299. Also included in the next gen iPhones will be GPS navigation, which was sadly lacking in previous models of the iPhone yet came as standard on several competing phones on the market. Apple hopes that the new lower prices, greater storage, increased connectivity, and newer features to their iPhone will help them recapture their footing in the cell phone market against Blackberry and Nokia. However, while the lower prices and new features are piquing interest, many are skeptical if the new 3G iPhone will live up to the hype. The launch of the new iPhone in July across 22 countries should help provide the answer of whether or not Apple's iPhone still has a meaningful stake in the substantial cell phone market.
